Some patterns never go out of style. And then there’s blueprint — a jewel of Czech tradition that still finds its way into the wardrobes of little (and big) hearts.
At LA TAYA, our love for blueprint goes beyond its beauty. We cherish it because it carries stories we don’t want to forget.
🌀 A piece of history with soul
Blueprint (modrotisk) has deep roots in Czech lands, dating back to the 18th century. It’s created using a traditional resist-printing method: a protective paste is applied to the fabric, which is then dyed in deep indigo. The result? A richly blue cloth with delicate white dots, florals, and ornamental patterns once passed down through generations.
In 2018, Czech (and Central European) blueprint was added to the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
🌿 Bringing tradition into the now
At LA TAYA, we don’t believe tradition belongs in a museum.
We believe it should be worn, played in, laughed in.
Our blueprint pieces are lightweight, playful, and made with natural fabrics – perfect for celebrations, summer days, and everyday childhood adventures.
These aren’t just “folk costumes” – they’re modern clothes with a heritage heartbeat.
